Twisted Trails Off Road Park
Twisted Trails is a local favorite located 40 miles south of Traverse City in Copemish. This park is 100% dedicated to off-roading with trails that are tailored to different skill levels and obstacles to practice your off-road skills on. This park is managed by the Dusters Off-Road Club, and it extends 400 acres and has a campground available where you can spend the night. This club also organizes several events and festivals which can include the entire family and provide an excellent atmosphere for all its visitors. One of the best things about Twisted Trails is that access is absolutely free.
Rocks and Valleys
Rocks and Valleys are located a few miles from US-127 and offer 200 acres of hills, rocks, mud, and various types of trails for off-roaders of all kinds of skill levels. These trails will take you through the Northern Michigan terrain, which is gorgeous and provides drivers and passengers with a terrific view of the lake. The challenges range from mild to wild, which will make it very easy to enjoy yourself regardless of yours or your Jeep's ability. Rocks and Valley is open from April to October and is available to riders of all ages.
The Mounds
Drivers of all kinds of Jeeps are sure to love the Mounds. It covers 118 acres of land which will feature every kind of terrain that Michigan can throw at you. This off-road park will provide you with a challenge no matter your skill level. These trails have a ton of rocks, sand, dirt, water, and mud while still providing stunning views of the Michigan landscape. If you want to hit the ground running, then you are going to love this off-road park. This park is open 365 days a year, and all vehicles are allowed.
Bundy Hill
Bundy Hill is located only two miles north of Jerome in Somerset Township. It's a 350-acre off-road park where your Jeep will feel right at home in all of the elements. This park will give you a little bit of everything as you tackle rock crawls and wooded trails, which lead to steep hills and water that can get around hood deep, so it's essential that if you do take your Jeep out there that you have a Jeep with a good amount of water fording. Bundy Hill is also family-friendly, with events that are available all season long.
Kalkaska Trail
These trails are enormous! There are over 90 miles of Jeep riding available to you, and it's located at the nearby AuSable River State Forest Campground, which will give you a nice place to base yourself before you head out onto the trails or, if you prefer, you can start at the town of Grayling. Most of the routes are sandy with plenty of rocks and roots, while the rolling hills will give you as many varied riding areas as possible. There are multiple loop options, and you can even ride for 150 miles!
