The 2025 Ram 1500 still comes standard with the engine Ram has relied on since 2011: the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, which supplies drivers with 305 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, plenty of power for their everyday needs. The Hurricane engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.0L straight-six engine. Mind you, the 5.7L HEMI only produced 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, making this a significant upgrade from the optional engine of years past. Meanwhile, the high-output form of the Hurricane engine takes that power to the next level. By this, we mean 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. The high-output Hurricane engine comes under the hood of the Limited and Tungsten trim levels. All three engines are paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting and optimal power delivery to the rear wheels as standard equipment. However, 4x4 is the most common platform found on Ram 1500s in Michigan, as it is more suitable for our unpredictable weather.

The all-new Ram 1500 RHO is equipped with the high-output Hurricane engine mentioned above, delivering an impressive 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. While the RHO matches the power of models like the Ram 1500 Limited, it stands out with additional features designed to boost its performance both on-road and off-road. The RHO also includes the same eight-speed automatic transmission, enhanced with paddle shifters on the steering wheel for manual gear control. Weighing 150 pounds less than Ram's previous performance model, the RHO achieves comparable performance thanks to its improved power-to-weight ratio. It retains a top speed of 118 MPH and sprints from 0-60 in just 4.6 seconds, only a tenth of a second slower than its predecessor.

The 2025 Ram 1500 receives major upgrades inside and out, while keeping its distinct grille designs across the lineup. With a ground clearance of 11.8 inches, it towers over the traditional Ram 1500 lineup, thanks to the impressive 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT tires and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shock absorbers. These shocks, carried over from the outgoing TRX model, provide remarkable suspension travel of 13 inches in the front and 14 inches in the rear.
