Iconic. Legendary. Unique. These are just a few of the words used to describe the Jeep Wrangler. With the 2024 model year fast approaching, the Wrangler is rejoining the lineup for the fortieth year in a row. Jeep has revealed the 2024 Jeep Wrangler, and we'd like to be the first to tell you that it is nothing short of impressive! With highly capable powertrain options, two new trim levels, and new design features, the Jeep Wrangler is back better than ever before in 2024. Please continue reading below to learn more about the 2024 Jeep Wrangler!

What's New for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler?

Part of what makes the Wrangler so iconic is its instantly recognizable design. That's why, instead of bringing it back to the drawing board ahead of the 2024 model year, Jeep made subtle changes to upgrade the exterior without taking away any of the iconic components. While the emblematic seven-slot grille remains, Jeep updated its color scheme throughout the lineup. In its most basic form, the grille features a body-color surround, black textured slots, and Neutral Gray Metallic bezels. However, different trim levels have different variations of this grille. For instance, the Willys stands out with Gloss Black surrounds and bezels for a bold all-black grille. Meanwhile, the Sahara swaps out the Neutral Gray bezels for Platinum Silver, while the High Altitude ties it all together with black textured slots, Neutral Gray bezels, and Gloss Black surrounds. In its current form, the Wrangler features a steel mast antenna, which has been notorious for getting snagged on branches while on the trails. To prevent this, the 2024 Wrangler features a stealth, windshield-integrated antenna to eliminate the risk of these snags. On the inside, the 2024 Wrangler gains a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with Uconnect 5 software. Uconnect 5 offers the latest in-car infotainment technologies, including but not limited to 4G LTE WiFi for up to eight devices, two-device Bluetooth ability, Amazon Alexa with car-to-home functionality, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

Updates to the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Lineup

For years, the Wrangler lineup has included six staple trim levels; Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude. Meanwhile, the Wrangler 4xe PHEV was introduced with Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude in the lineup, while Willys was introduced for 2023 as the entry-level trim. For the 2024 model year, Jeep has introduced a trim new trim level for both the Wrangler and Wrangler 4xe lineup. Beginning with the Wrangler lineup, the all-new Rubicon X takes the impressive Rubicon trim to new heights. While the Rubicon comes standard with Rock-Trac part-time 4x4, electronic sway bar disconnect, 33-inch all-terrain tires, FOX suspension, and more, the all-new Rubicon X enhances the Wrangler's off-road capability even further. To push the Wrangler Rubicon X to the next level, Jeep gave it full-time Rock-Trac 4x4, a forward-facing off-road trail camera, 35-inch BFGoodrich T/A KO2 all-terrain tires, beadlock-capable alloy wheels, upgraded steel front and rear bumpers, and more. Meanwhile, giving Wrangler 4xe customers a lower price point on the most popular PHEV SUV is the 2024 Wrangler Sport S 4xe!

Does the 2024 Wrangler Keep its Iconic Parts?

Jeep wanted to bring the 2024 Wrangler out with new features to keep up with the competition without taking the aspects that Wrangler fans love the most. That's why the overall design of the Wrangler remains the same. Drivers still get the Wrangler's iconic open-air freedom from a removable top, removable doors, and a fold-down windshield. For top options, the 2024 Wrangler comes standard with a new premium soft top, while a Sky One-Touch power top, a black hard top, a body-color hard top, and Sunrider for Hardtop are all available. Additionally, 2024 brings back the available half doors for a unique spin on open-air freedom. The 2024 Wrangler also continues to provide world-class capability with four engines, three 4x4 systems, and two transmissions making up the 2024 Jeep Wrangler's lineup of powertrain options. As with the current Wrangler, standard equipment is a 285 horsepower 3.6L V6 engine with 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a six-speed manual transmission and Command-Trac part-time 4x4, while an eight-speed automatic transmission is available. Meanwhile, the 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine is optional, putting out 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine is paired with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and Selec-Trac full-time 4x4. The Wrangler 4xe lineup is powered by a PHEV system pairing the aforementioned turbocharged engine with two electric motors and a rechargeable battery pack to deliver 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Like the turbocharged engine, the 4xe lineup features an eight-speed automatic powering the Selec-Trac 4x4 system. Meanwhile, the mighty Wrangler Rubicon 392 comes with a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine shaking the ground with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Rubicon 392 comes with Rock-Trac full-time 4x4 and an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters.
