2022 Jeep Compass Revealed

A few new Jeep releases have featured an updated grille design that appears to be the brand's new signature. The Compass follows this theme, featuring a stacked front grille with body-color front bumpers and a more subtle and refined take on the signature 7-slot design. This sleek-looking grille is flanked by two horizontal LED headlights paired with smaller fog lights tucked beneath. All the exterior lighting has been upgraded to LED, including cornering lights that can sense both the car's angle and the steering wheel placement so that visibility around corners is brighter than ever before. The front fascia has also been upgraded to allow the available surround-view camera to blend seamlessly into the vehicle's front end.

The 2022 Compass's interior has been elevated to match the likes of other new models such as the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Despite its compact size, space and airiness have been emphasized to create a cabin that feels open and accommodating. The dashboard has a new horizontal layout with sweeping character lines that accentuate its width. Heated seats are available for the first row, and now for the first time ever, the second row as well. Leather upholstery is also standard on upper trims that adds to the luxurious feel. Perhaps the biggest difference can actually be found in the smallest details, as it's these careful touches throughout the cabin that demonstrate the care that has been taken in this redesign. These include new 360-degree interior door handles, contrast stitching on the seats, and Satin Chrome-painted speaker bezels so that design cues can be seen from every angle.

No modern vehicle is complete without all the latest technology, and Jeep has already illustrated their keen eye for cutting-edge equipment. The Compass's stunning new dashboard features the newest generation Uconnect 5 infotainment system with either an 8.4 or 10.1-inch touchscreen. The system features wireless smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as five different user profiles so that multiple passengers can save their favorite settings. New Amazon "Home to Car" technology allows you to access your Amazon Alexa from the road, using the same voice commands you're used to at home. There's also integrated TomTom navigation, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. There's also an upgraded digital cluster display measuring either 3.5, 7, or 10.25 inches. The largest version offers crystal-clear views of relevant information like adaptive cruise control settings through its frameless thin-film transistor (TFT) screen.

Just as they did with their tech features, Jeep has also pioneered a new standard in terms of safety coverage. The 2022 Jeep Compass will feature an expanded standard suite of features, many of which can only be found on upper trims, or ordered separately on competing vehicles. Some of these standard features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward collision warning with active braking, and LaneSense lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist. This is just a small preview of all the standard and available features, which include 75 options in total. With the purchase of a 2022 Jeep Compass, you will also be automatically enrolled in the Jeep Wave Customer Care program, which includes specials for maintenance and repairs, 24/7 on-call assistance, and other exclusive member benefits.

In keeping with Jeep's legacy of highly capable SUVs and crossovers, the 2022 Compass has had an inner makeover, providing a more powerful engine and greater capability. It all starts with the 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine paired with a smooth-shifting 9-speed automatic transmission, a powertrain rated at 177 horsepower, 172 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6-speed transmission is also available for the 2-wheel drive Sport and Latitude models for a sportier feel. The 2022 Compass will also feature an off-road-ready Trailhawk trim level, a name that's become synonymous with rugged capability. This trim level will include the Jeep Active Low system, an active drive technology that features a 20:1 crawl ratio perfect for navigating uneven terrain.
